Shield
Cobalt blue and golden yellow are the colors of the Chemical Corps branch. The hexagon is adapted from the branch insignia and the green color and dragon, from the Chemical Corps regimental coat of arms. The bend represents the Panama Canal, the district to which the organization was assigned.
Crest
The three arrows commemorate the campaign participation credits the unit earned in World War I, Vietnam and Southwest Asia. The gauntlet signifies combat readiness and refers to the phrase, "To take up the gauntlet is to accept the challenge." The hexagon is taken from the branch insignia and is red to honor the Meritorious Unit Commendation awarded for Southwest Asia 1990-1991. The palm wreath represents victory and also refers to the Southwest Asia Area of Operation.
